How is the shore around Lake Geneva created?

All around the beautiful Lake Geneva / Lac Leman in the canton Vaud, Switzerland, you can see an incredible structure of rocks along the shore.

One day I asked myself how these rocks are actually placed there. A few days later I saw a boat carrying a crane and rocks in the middle of the lake and after a bit of observation I noticed, this is how the rock formations are placed along the shore.
