The Mercury Trust Foundation was established by the remaining band members of Queen in memory of Freddie Mercury who died of Aids, and this foundation fights against this disease.

Around the world, in many countries there are different "Freddie for a Day" events happening to raise awareness for the foundation.

A bunch of Queen tribute bands perform Queens' songs at this event.

In 1996 the statue of Freddie was placed at the lake of Montreux in memory of Freddie, as he fell in love with this area of Switzerland and stated:

"If you want peace of mind, come to Montreux." Freddie Mercury

One of the most beautiful sundown's at the lake!

Highly recommended to simply relax and watch the sun going down on the round peer next to the statue.

Queen recorded a lot of their songs in Montreux, Switzerland.

Since 2017, a "Queen Experience" Museum has been opened in the Casino of Montreux, in the actual studio where the band recorded many of their songs. Also, in this studio Freddie Mercury and David Bowie recorded the famous song "under pressure".

I'll go into more detail about all of that on my next blog post!
