Leaving Lisbon, I headed over to Valencia to get the ferry to Ibiza. As the journey is a 8 hour drive, I stopped over in Toledo for the night, being greeted by some incredible views and another magical sunset! From Toledo we made our way down to Valencia port, where we took a 6-hour ferry onto the Island. The day before I arrived was when there were some impactful floods in Ibiza, and the last time the island saw such weather was over 40 years ago. Read on to explore the journey of arriving on Ibiza!

Toledo back in the day, was what Madrid is today to Spain, it used to be the central city of the country which is why you see such majestic buildings all around! It truly is a beautiful city to visit, and offers capturing views.

To get the ferry onto Ibiza, you can start at different ports, and I took the one from Valencia, as it allowed me to get on with my car and take a cabin with Atlantis. When you travel with dogs, you can either take a seated ticket, but then the dog goes in a cage, and this is not an option for me, therefore there are also cabin tickets which you can take, which cost a bit more, but like this you are together with your dog. You can also find areas outside the boat where your dog is allowed to go.

Arriving in the early morning hours, first we saw how the flooding from the previous day impacted the east city. On the ferry itself there were fire-fighters heading over to the island to help, and in the city you could see some garages where water was being pumped out as well as a few remaining bigger puddles. Weather like this, has not been on the island since over 40 years, so it made quite an impression!
We immediately drove to a beautiful spot to see the sunrise, and it was magical! The way the sun hits on the island, is something else, the frequency radiating from the sun is so much more powerful than in other places, also the way the water moves, it’s simply different, mesmerizing and magical!

Our journey continues on Ibiza, and for now I am in awe of the magical energy felt on this island and can only recommend you to explore this place, if you feel called to go there. There is so much more to Ibiza, and I can assure, next to the wide spread party scene, the island is so rich in nature, exploration, beaches, beautiful places to discover and much more!
Much love,
