All the way up south of the Island you will find a beautiful long adventure heading towards a watch tower. There are two different paths which can be taken leading you to it, where you will come across incredible structures in the water and within the cliffs. As you explore this adventure you will ponder on these ruins, where they come from and from when. Read on to find out more.

The path from des Cavallet beach
Walking along the beach des Cavallet is a beautiful long stroll passing white sands and incredible views onto the island in front Formentera. Once you reach the cliffs, you will equally walk past dunes with structures in them fueling you with historic energy.

The path from Las Salinas beach
You walk through a beautiful natural parc and will come out at the coast line which you can then walk for a good 500 meters before reaching the tower. Along this path you will come across so many different dunes and you will find ancient ruins hidden under water or within the cliffs themselves. Simply standing in the water on these ruins or observing the formations in the cliffs will allow you to feel true history and ponder upon what civilization they could have been part of. The energy around these dunes is magical and majestic!

So from when are these structures?
There is no exact answer to this, and when you do some research about ancient history from alternative perspectives you come across how there was an advanced civilization before the ice age, and that within 1 week everything on earth witnessed tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic ruptures, which weakened earth and molded matter together, all which can be seen in the rock formations found around the world. These formations here in Ibiza especially those around las Salinas, made me think of exactly this theory on ancient history. If you want to read more about this, check out this blog post which I wrote.
The tower
From both sides you will reach the tower, where you will also find little fisher huts. I can only recommend sitting on the cliff right at the peak and looking out to the ocean, observing boats passing by, looking at the island Formentera or even watching the sunset from there. It is a truly beautiful adventure! Also, when driving to either one of both sides you will come across the renown Ibiza Salt farms which are very interesting to look at!

As a side note, in the summer both beaches are very popular and full, however you can find hidden spaces in the dunes which are truly spectacular and from October until April you can walk along both paths with your dog which make a beautiful journey, as you will meet plenty of other dog walkers along the way.

The energy along this adventure is extremely majestic and next to the clear sea through ocean water and golden sand, the ruins around Las Salinas keep you reflecting on a royal past civilization that resided here a very long time ago. When exploring other parts of the Island, it seems like these ruins are linked to the ones found in “Atlantis ruins” a few coast further. Read more about that adventure on the blog post here. Ibiza has so many hidden magical spots, which will keep you researching and pondering about history.
We are generation change.
Yours truly,
Isabel
