Updated: Jan 28, 2022
Near the famous Rhone Valley, in St. Leonard, Valais, Switzerland you can find the largest underground lake in Europe, Lac Souterrain St. leonard!
Being 300 meters long, with a local boat, for about 30 minutes you float over crystal clear water whilst breathing in revitalizing alpine air!
It is a magical experience to undertake! The peace and tranquility felt whilst drifting in the underground lake is irreplaceable! For all those people who enjoy energizing in the alps and recharging in areas within the mountains, this is an incredible location to feel the power of nature!
Next to random salt accumulations you pass by old and natural geological structures which teach you so much about life inside a mountain!
At the end of the lake you come towards an inside beach which due to the highlighted lightning looks like you are approaching an area full of gold.
An incredible well-kept secret is that this underground lake is home to occasional concerts! Can you imagine the acoustic in this “natural concert hall?” This is truly a unique gem to discover and attend once in your life time!
